Sargent and his sister are first recorded in the Hotel Siete Suclos in Granada in late September and the party remained until November. Sargent wrote to Mrs. Curtis: “We are still here and working hard, both Emily and I—Emily has done some capital watercolours—the Von [de] Glehns are just leaving and we must follow soon, alas—It is hard to leave Granada!”. Many of the watercolours Wilfrid produced during this trip were exhibited at his one-man show at the Fine Art Society in May, 1913.
